Dr Peter Hopton

Hardware and Infrastructure Technology Challenges to Achieving ExaScale – and EuroEXA’s Answer

Energy Efficiency, Density, Latency – major interlinked factors which require improvements to achieve the next generation of super computers. Peter Hopton, Founder of Iceotope and a key technology lead from EuroEXA will show the underlying technological drivers and challenges influencing the next generation of super computers. Peter will then share EuroEXA’s unique approach to these challenges.

About the Speaker:

Dr Hopton is the chair of the Data Centre Specialist Group at the BCS and Founder of Iceotope; Currently he spends most of his time on EU projects relating to ExaScale supercomputing where he is a key technology and exploitation lead for multiple projects including EuroEXA.
