We are currently looking for people to speak at the workshop! Spaces are limited but if you are interested in presenting your work on scientific applications on the latest emerging technology or your developments to the technology itself then please email an abstract (no greater than 300 words) to firstname.lastname@example.org before the 31st of October 2017. Selected submissions will be asked to give a short (15 minute) presentation at the workshop and will be published in a book of abstracts.
This will be hosted by the Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) sponsored annual technology conference Computing Insight UK at the Manchester Central conference centre in Manchester, UK. This year the theme of CIUK is Joining Up the UK e-Infrastructure with a two-day technical and scientific programme of invited and submitted talks around the subject. There will also be an exhibitors hall with a mix of the largest and most innovative computing manufacturers and re-sellers in the UK.
The first EMiT workshop is planned as a start to a new series, with the main conference event running alongside. This year will see an exciting morning of talks around applied science on emerging technology as well as around the technology itself. The afternoon will then see a hands-on practical workshop around quantum computing and will involve expert tuition on the subject as well as practical experience of using cloud-based quantum computing!
Registration for EMiT@CIUK is included in the registration fee for CIUK itself. This is priced at £59 before October the 31st 2017 and then at £99 thereafter and includes full access to the CIUK scientific programme and the main exhibition hall on both the 12th and 13th of December as well as the EMiT@CIUK workshop on the 13th of December. Refreshments are also included in the price on both days. Further details and registration can be found here.
The EMiT organising committee looks forward to welcoming you to this exciting new chapter in the EMiT series!
